Welcome to the official website for the PA Young Women in Physics (PA YWiP) Conference.
The PA YWiP Conference is a day-long event that will be held on Saturday, April 2nd, 2016 in the Elaine Langone Center at Bucknell University (see “Directions and Accommodations” tab for more information). The event is geared toward both male and female high school students as well as Bucknell University undergraduates. The goals of the PA YWiP Conference are to address the issue of gender bias in local scientific communities, provide students with strong female role models in the field, expose students to an academic conference setting, and introduce students to the variety of physics research done in Pennsylvania.
The event is free and open to both high school and college students. However, we ask that attendees register through the form under the “Registration” tab.
This conference has been made possible by generous support from the Bucknell University Dean of Arts and Sciences, the Bucknell University Department of Physics and Astronomy, the American Physical Society Women in Physics grant, and the “It Starts with Me: Enhancing Diversity and Inclusion” grant.
